Come and stay in our holiday cottage gite, spend your vacation in a Dordogne stone house with modern accommodation.

There are an almost unlimited number of things to see and to discover around the Dordogne, including the renowned Lascaux caves; gardens at Marqueyssac; Sarlat la Caneda (regional centre); Dordogne castles; and the prehistoric caves in the Les Eyzies region in the Vezere Valley. It is however the places in between these 'Dordogne hot-spots' that will stay longest in your memory, perhaps - the coffee in a small village looking over miles of countryside, or the walk alongside a stream with no-one else in sight. Even during the summer, when visitor numbers are at their greatest, it is very easy to find peaceful, tranquil places to sit and admire the region.
The PERIGORD NOIR (BLACK PERIGORD) is internationally renowned for its prehistoric sites, centred on the Vézère and Dordogne valleys.

This area has also long been admired for its beautiful scenery, with attractive towns and villages such as Montignac, Lascaux, Font-de-Gaume, Les Eyzies, Le Bugue, Limeuil, Terrasson,Saint-Cyprien and Sarlat all worth a visit. Along the Dordogne Valley, the castles of Montfort, Beynac and Castelnaud stand guard over the river - imposing reminders of the region's turbulent history.

In Périgord life can be enjoyed almost all the year round. In spring, the flowers are bursting with colour, the days are already long and there is a truly special light. In summer, there is everything for you to take advantage of the sun in a holiday atmosphere : swimming pools, café terraces, etc. In autumn, peace returns to the countryside, and the landscape is at its most attractive : the trees in full autumn colour and the horizons bathed with a veil of rosy light make this season the most romantic of all. There is an enormous choice of houses to let. As often as not they are old farms that have been restored, but also town and village houses, all with modern facilities within the old settings, with their stone walls, original fireplaces, and roofs with their original stone tiles

With a holiday cottage gite to stay in, there are new discoveries to be made every day.

In St Cyprien you will enjoy peaceful and enriching vacation, holiday along one of the most beautiful French rivers, the Dordogne, with a choice of cultural and sporting activities, such as art-exhibitions, horse-riding, canoeing, fly in a hot-air-balloon,go fishing or swim, take a cruise down the Dordogne on an old-fashioned "gabarre" (flat-bottomed boat).

Our holiday cottage / gite is a Charming semi-detached Périgourdine cottage in 10 acres of private gardens and woodland. Only 3 minutes from the village of Saint Cyprien on the River Dordogne, with its traditional shops and lively Sunday market.
